At Blues Chews, everything we do is rooted in one simple mission: to extend the health, comfort, and joy of our beloved canine companions. With 20 years of kitchen experience and a lifelong passion for herbal medicine and foraging, I’ve spent the past two decades crafting nutritious, intentional dog chews for the pups who’ve shared my life.
The Inspiration Behind Our Treats
It all began with my best buddy, Exodus—a 115-pound, big-hearted, square-headed blue nose pit bull who came to me from Alaska when he was six. Ours was a classic “who saved who” kind of love story. As he got older and started to slow down, I couldn’t stand by and watch him lose his spark.
I began cooking his meals from scratch, using dog-safe ingredients and incorporating the herbs I had studied and foraged for years. The change was incredible—Exodus regained his mobility and energy and started acting like a puppy again. His transformation caught the attention of other dog parents, and soon I found myself making larger batches to share.
Since Exodus, I’ve had the joy of caring for several incredible dogs. Each one—from Exodus to Sky (whose memory inspired our Vitality Chew), to our current senior pug bull, Mrs. Wiggles—has helped shape and refine our products. Recently, a rescued adult kitty joined our family to keep Mrs. Wiggles company, and our home is once again full of life and love.

Our Mission:
What started as a personal journey has grown into a heartfelt mission: to help as many dogs as possible live longer, healthier lives. After witnessing the changes in my own dogs, I knew I had to share these herbal, nutrient-rich treats with others.
Blues Chews is dedicated to crafting functional, thoughtfully blended chews for dogs with real-life health concerns. From anxiety to joint discomfort, every recipe is made with organic, wholesome ingredients and time-honored herbal knowledge. Each batch is hand-rolled and cut with the same care and love I put into the very first one I made for Exodus.
